I wanted to remind everyone that there is an all troop welcome back celebration this Saturday 9/21 from 3:00 – 5:00 at Welles Park. The girls will be gathering near the gazebo.

There will be donuts and cider as well as crafts and games for the girls to participate in. It sounds like it should be a great time weather permitting.

Year End Celebration & Escape Room Outing

Year End Celebration

I just wanted to send a quick reminder that we will be meeting tomorrow night 5/29/24 at 6:00 PM in the church basement for our year end celebration.

Escape Room

I was hoping to book our escape room experience at The Quandary (3205 N Clark St) for Saturday June 8th if everyone is available. Currently their open time slots are 12:30, 2:15, or 4:00 PM.

Please let me know as soon as possible if this date will work and what time you prefer. The experience itself is about an hour long but we will need to be there about 15 mins early to get checked in and set up.

Meeting Reminder, Year End Celebration, & End of the Year outings!

Hello all,

Can you believe the girl scout year is almost coming to an end. We will be having our last regularly scheduled meeting tomorrow night 5/22 at 6:00. Please let me know if anyone is unable able to attend.

Year End Celebration

We will be having our year end celebration next Wednesday May 30th at 6:00 in the church basement. I know that Francesca and Rosaleen will not be back from their 8th grade trip by then so will be unable to attend. Please let me know as soon as possible if anyone else will be unable to attend as well.

End of the year outings

I would like to plan two end of the year outings for the girls to celebrate all the hard work they have accomplished this year. This is an especially bittersweet ending for me as I will be stepping back from being a Girl Scout leader for the coming year. If any returning Cadette mom would be interested in taking over the troop please don’t hesitate to ask for more information about it.

The first outing i wanted to plan was to an Escape Room adventure in Lakeview. Below is the website for The Quandary Escape Rooms located at 3205 N Clark St.

The girls were interested in the Escape the 90’s adventure. The outing would be approximately an hour long and there are different times to choose from during the week as well as the weekends. If anyone has any preference on a date or time that would work better for them please let me know or conversely if there are any days that will not work please share those as well. It is my hope to get this outing scheduled for the some time in the next two weeks. There will be no cost for this outing as it will be paid for from the troop’s cookie proceeds.

The second outing I wanted to plan will be a repeat of last year’s adventure to The Forge: lemont Quarries for their climbing and zipline adventure. Given all the activities everyone has planned for the summer I am anticipating that later June or July will work best. Again please let me know what everyone’s date preferences or exclusions will be and please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions.

There will be a $25.00 fee per person for this adventure with the remaining balance being paid for from our troop funds. Just like last year we will need a couple of adult chaperones to participate in the outing and the invitation is also open to any former girl scout siblings that may want to participate.

Meeting Reminder 5/8

Just sending a quick reminder that we will be meeting tonight at 6 o’clock for our regularly scheduled meeting.

There is a slight change in location as we will be meeting in one of the upstairs conference rooms.

This is a quick reminder that we are meeting this evening at 6:00 for our normally scheduled meeting.

Scout Sunday Mass

This Sunday is the Scout Sunday Mass at Queen of Apostles Church. The mass is scheduled for 11:00. The Boy Scouts will be there representing and it would be nice if we have some representation from any Girl Scouts that attend mass. If your daughter would like to attend the mass we ask that they wear their vest or sash so others will know that they are Girl Scouts. The mass isn’t mandatory of course but it is a special way to highlight our scouting program.
