Hello all,

I wanted to ask if anyone was planning to attend the White Pines horseback riding weekend this year? We are exactly one month out and will need to provide the ranch with an estimated head count. Please let me know by the end of day today if you were planning to attend so that we can be sure to include you in the head count.

Year End Celebration reminder 5/26

Hello all,

I just wanted to remind you all that we will be having our year end celebration this THURSDAY May 26th at 6:00 in the Church basement. This will be an all troop event and we will have an ice cream reception afterwards outside the church.

Thank you to all of those that have already sent in their RSVP. If you have not done so please let me know as soon as possible if you will be attending or not so we can ensure we have enough treats for everyone.

I would ask the girls to wear their uniforms if possible. Since we will be having a flag ceremony and bridging ceremony as well it would be nice to see the girls in their uniforms.

See you all on Thursday!

Meeting reminder, Year end celebration, troop outing!

Hello all,

I wanted to remind you all that we will be meeting tomorrow evening for our last regularly scheduled troop meeting. How time flies!

Year End Celebration

We will have an all troop year end celebration on Thursday, May 26th in the church basement from 6:00-7:00 followed by an ice cream reception afterwords. Please RSVP as soon as possible if you plan to attend the celebration so we can be sure to have enough Ice cream treats for everyone.

Troop Outing

Thank you to all those that have responded to my post about the troop outing we are trying to plan for the end of June. It should be a lot of fun. For those that have not yet responded, please let me know as as possible if your daughter is interested in attending or if you will be declining so we can plan accordingly.

Year End Celebration & Troop outing-Response requested.

Hello all,

Year end Celebration

I wanted to let you all know that we will be having an all troop year end celebration on Thursday May 26th in the church basement. We will not be able to have a pot luck as we have had in past years but we may have an ice cream social of some sort afterwords. More details to follow.

We will still have our last troop meeting on the 18th where we will be putting together bag snacks and sandwiches that will be donated to the Night Ministry as the girls have voted on for part of their service project.

Troop Outing

The girls and I also discussed having a special troop outing to finish out the year. I know that summer vacations and family trips will soon be upon us so I was hoping we could plan this for either Sunday June 19th or the 26th.

My co-leader, Cathryn and I were hoping to take them to The Forge in Lamont, which is described as an outdoor adventure park, for some climbing and zip lining fun. I will attach a link to the Forge so you can all check it out. The discounted group rate per girl will be $65.00. I am asking that each person attending pay $20.00 of that fee and the rest will be paid out of our troop funds. We should be able to arrange car pooling options so that travel should not be an issue.

The only criteria we need to meet to ensure that everyone is eligible to participate, is that everyone weigh at least 70 lbs and are at least 52 inches tall.

The Forge is part of the Lamont quarries so it is free to enter and enjoy the sites along with free parking. The cost is for the adventure activities that we choose to do.

Please check out the link below and let me know as soon as possible if this is something that you all would enjoy participating in and if so what dates work best.

Meeting reminder & Juniper Knoll signup deadline

Hello all,

I wanted to send a quick reminder that we will be meeting tonight for our regularly scheduled meeting.

Juniper Knoll

We are quickly approaching the deadline to sign up for our spring camping weekend at Juniper Knoll. If you and your child are planning to attend we need to know no later than this Friday April 15th.

To recap the camping trip is scheduled for the weekend of May 13-15th and the cost is $55.00 per person which will be due by April 27th.

Please let me know so we can make sure to have an accurate attendance count.

Juniper Knoll Camping Trip

I am happy to report that we will be having our spring camping trip to Juniper Knoll this year.  We will be at Juniper Knoll the weekend of May 13th-15th.  The cost to attend the camping trip will be $55.00 per person which does include all meals.

We would like to have as many adult chaperones as possible to be with the girls but one adult per girl will not be required as long as arrangements are made with an attending parent to have your child looked after for the duration of the trip.  Fathers are welcome to attend if they wish but will need sleep in a separate area at camp.

Attending adults will be asked to help out by providing assistance serving one meal for the entire service unit.  This helps defray the cost of camp attendance so we don’t have to hire additional staff.

While this will not be a full blown “roughing it” camping trip we will be sleeping outdoors in platform tents provided by the camp.  There will be bathrooms at the campsite with running water and flushing toilets.  We will do some badge work as a troop as well as some group activities such as canoeing and archery.  We will of course have a camp fire and s’mores.

Since I do lead both the Junior and Cadette Troops we may have a mixed campsite of both troop levels as well as a few guest Juniors that may want to attend camp but will not have their own leader with them.

Please let me or Laura know by April 15th if you would like to attend however if you already know for certain that you will be attending please let us know as soon as possible so we can start planning and purchasing supplies.  I will send out additional packing lists and directions as we get closer to the trip.  Also do not hesitate to contact me or Laura with any additional questions or concerns.
