I wanted to send everyone a quick reminder that we are nearing the end of the initial phase of cookie orders. Online sales for girl delivered orders will end on 1/20/20 at 11:59 PM. The website will still take orders through March but anything submitted after Jan 20th will need to be direct ship only and customers will be charged a shipping fee. Girls will of course continue to receive credit for all online sales made through March.
All in person orders need to be submitted via email or text by end of day on 1/20/21 in order for me to enter them into the system and the money can be forwarded electronically. As always we will have extra boxes on hand for sale after cookie delivery in February so if you do get any late in person order requests we can definitely try to fill them so please don’t hesitate to ask.
I just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a meeting tomorrow evening at 6 PM to make up for last week’s meeting that was cancelled. If your daughter is unable to attend tomorrow that’s not a problem And we will see them at next week’s regularly scheduled meeting. Please see the meeting details below:

Sorry that I am getting this out late but I wanted to send out some docs for our meeting tonight. We will begin work on our MEdia journey. Over the next several meetings we will be looking closely at the relationship of media and the public. Given everything going on at the moment and the information overload we all experiencing I felt this journey would be very timely. By the end of this journey they will have accomplished the following:
They have taken stock of media in their world and the influence it has.
They understand the importance of having media reflect the realities of their world.
They have made a personal commitment to cultivate a new perspective on media.
For tonight’s meeting we will be focusing on the first point and using the following aids. Its not a problem if they cant be printed in time for tonight’s meeting but it would be good to have them for the future. I do want to warn you that it is 15 pages long so its advisable to print it double sided and in black and white. Better yet if they can have it downloaded on their tablets or other device and handy to look at that would conserve resources even more.
There is an optional companion book that can be purchased from the Girl Scout store. It is not required as I will post anything we need online but I know that some girls do like to have it to follow along or explore on their own.

We will be giving those they did not have an opportunity to present their comic strips at the last meeting a chance to do so and then we have some fun Christmas games to play. I also wanted to touch base about cookie sales and see if anyone had any issues using Digital Cookie the online cookie ordering system has been live since the 14th. Hopefully you all have had a chance to sign in and create your virtual store fronts. If you ran into difficulties or had any questions please let me know.

It’s that time of year again…and no I don’t mean Christmas. I’m talking about Girl Scout Cookie Sales! I know that everything about this year has been different and cookie sales are certainly no exception. While it will be difficult for some to focus on in-person sales like they normally do, we do have the Digital Cookie Platform that I highly recommend. Some of you did use it last year for the first time and really liked it.
Once you register for Digital Cookie sales you can send out personalized emails to friends, family, and co-workers with a link to your virtual cookie storefront. There they can choose whichever cookies they like as well as make gift of caring purchases. They can select to have the cookies delivered directly to them for a fee or select girl delivered to have the cookies delivered through you as normal. The really nice thing is that they can even make payment online so you won’t have to worry about collecting their money and turning it over to me. For those of you that prefer to use the traditional cookie sales sheet, those are still available. I have attached PDFs of the family newsletter, cookie order form, and goal getter order form below. If you would prefer a hard copy of these docs let me know and I will get those out to you right away.
You should be getting a welcome email on Dec.7th and a personalized link to register for Digital Cookie and create your online storefront. If for some reason you do not receive your email you can click here to request a new link.
Due to pandemic restrictions we will not be able to host cookie pickup in the church basement as we have done in previous years. This year’s cookie pickup will be happening in February at Second City Theatre. They have graciously volunteered their facility for cookie pickup. More details to follow for that day. Cookie sales begin on Dec. 14th and initial cookie orders need to be turned in by Jan. 20th for girl delivered cookies. You can continue to sell cookies through March 20th with delivery being via shipping. Any cookies sold during this extended period will still count towards cookie prizes. As an Added incentive I will be adding a troop exclusive prize for the top cookie seller in each of my troops. The girl with the highest cookie sales will win a Girl Scout Cookie themed bear from Build-A- Bear workshop.
