Hello everyone,

I just wanted to remind everyone that we are meeting tonight to begin work on our woodworking badge. If you have one please have the girls bring a hammer with them as we will be practicing how to properly and safely handle a hammer and nails. I do have a couple but not enough for everyone. I apologize for the short notice but I will need to cancel tonight’s meeting due to unforeseen circumstances.  We will begin our Wood Working badge at the next meeting.  The girls will be learning fundamental skills needed to build a simple wood project then in the following meetings we will actually build a simple wood project such as a step stool or small book shelf.

I’m looking forward to this next badge.

Thank you all for the hard work you all did with cookie sales this year. I wanted to let you all know that we have extra cookies to sell in case anyone gets any late order requests. Your daughters will get credit for any additional cookies they sell so please let me know if you need anymore. We currently have the following boxes on hand:

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to remind everyone that we ARE meeting this Wednesday 2/12 for our regular scheduled meeting.  I am asking that the girls that were working on their shelter models bring the finished model to show at the meeting.  Also please bring your completed shelter nomination sheet with you as well.  This will be the last meeting for our journey.

Please don’t forget that this Thursday is the all troop Valentines Day party as well.  I will not be able to attend due to prior commitments but its always a fun time.  Older girls typically help out with the stations where needed.

Cookie pickup will also be going on in the church basement.  Please dont’ forget to pickup your orders.  Cookies can be picked up anytime after school and we would like to have things wrapped up around 6:00 or as close as possible to that time.

Hello everyone,

I apologize for the post sent in error.  There is no meeting for the Cadettes tomorrow.  We will be meeting next week 2/12 as scheduled.  All other information still applies though.

Valentine’s Day party & cookie pick up

Please don’t forget that we will be having an all troop Valentine’s Day party next Thursday the 13th from 6:00-7:00 in the Voss Center.

Next Thursday will also be cookie pickup on the church basement.  We will need volunteers that morning to help receive and sort the cookies.  Parents can pick up cookies from after school till 6:00 so if you are dropping off your child for the party that would be a great opportunity to pick up your cookies.  There isn’t a lot of storage space so we are asking that anyone who is unable to pickup cookies that day, please let us know as soon as possible so alternate arrangements can be made.

Other important dates and events

Dance Badge Workshop – March 21st.  Cost will be $5 per person to cover expenses for the patches they will earn.  A final count of all those who will be attending will be needed by March 14th.  Please click on the link below to add your name to the sign up sheet.

St Patrick’s Day Parade – March 14th.  Any girl who walks will get a patch.

Spring Camping Trip – May 8th-10th.  Camp Juniper Knoll, East Troy WI.  Cost is $55.00 per person.  Parents are encouraged but not required to accompany their child as long as they make arrangements for adult supervision of their child by another attending parent.

I just wanted to remind everyone that we will be meeting this Wednesday for our regularly scheduled meeting.  The girls will complete the designs for their animal shelters and begin construction on their models.  We will also be voting on which animal shelter to help for our service project.  I’ve asked the girls to do a bit of research and find an animal shelter to advocate for and complete a nomination sheet to discuss with the rest of the group.  Below is a copy of that sheet in case the girls lost their copy.

I just wanted to send one final reminder that all cookie orders need to be in by end of day today.  You all have been doing a great job using the digital platform and I would like us to finish strong and make sure we get those Cookie Sheet orders submitted if you have them.  Please email (lexi.toledo75@gmail.com) or text (312-953-0405) me your orders as soon as possible.   You can submit payments via Venmo, Zelle, or in person at the next meeting with cash or check (Please make checks payable to Girl Scouts).  Thank you to all those that sold this year.  You really put forth a great effort!  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I just wanted to remind everyone that although you can text or email your cookie form orders to me by the 20th, the digital cookie platform will only be available till midnight on the 19th. All digital orders will need to be submitted and approved by then or they will not get fulfilled. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cookie Sales

Pre-order Cookie sales will end on January 20^th.  Hopefully many of you were able to use the Digital Cookie platform for online sales.  I found it to be a great tool! For anyone needing to turn in physical cookie orders, please email or text me your individual cookie orders no later than 5 PM on the 20^th.  They need to be keyed in by midnight on the 20^th.  All monies will be collected at the next troop meeting.  Attached is a copy of the Cookie order sheet in case anyone needs an extra copy.

All Scout Mass

The all Scout mass will be held this year on Sunday, February 2nd during the 9:30 mass at Queen of Angels church.  There will be a reception after church that all are welcome to attend.  Please bring a treat to share if you participate.  We realize not everyone participates due to various reasons, but all are welcome to take part.  There will be a color guard procession of which only those in proper sashes or uniform can be in. No jeans please. At least one can do a reading or petitions once they are released to us.  Please email Colleen Herman at colleen.herman@gmail.com if you are planning to attend.

Cookie Pickup

Cookie Pickup is scheduled for Thursday, February 13^th in the church basement.  Storage space is limited so it is important that all cookies to be picked up that night.  If for any reason you will not be able to pick up your orders please let us know as soon as possible so that other arrangements can be made. This is the same day as our Valentine’s Day party.

Chinese New Year parade

Saturday, February 2 at 12:30 in Chinatown, Irene Crea is the organizer.  Afterwards if you wish they go out for a Chinese meal.

 

St. Patrick’s Day parade

Saturday, March 14 downtown.  Irene and Ann Ryan are the organizers.  This is a family event and all are welcome to walk in the parade with your scouts

 

Dance Badge workshop

Saturday, March 21st at Gompers Park. There will be a couple of dance instructors teaching Irish dance and other dances.  Additional details to follow.
