Meeting Reminder – 10/25 Halloween Party

Hello all,

I wanted to remind everyone that we will be meeting this Wednesday as scheduled but instead of doing our regular badge work we will be having an all troop Halloween party. The girls in our troop will help run the activities for the younger girls so everyone’s participation will be greatly appreciated. If your daughter will not be able to attend the meeting please let me know so we can ensure that there is sufficient coverage for all activities. The girls are allowed and encouraged to wear costumes if they so choose but they are not mandatory. See you all on Wednesday!

I just wanted to send a quick reminder that we are meeting tomorrow night to begin working on our Outdoor Art Apprentice badge. We will be creating nature inspired clay jewelry.

Registration & Dues

Please ensure that your daughter’s registration has been renewed for the new year and that you turn in their $25.00 dues requirement. Thank you to those that have already done so.

Optional all troop get together – Oct 1st

As mentioned previously, there will be an optional all troop social gathering on Oct 1st from 2:30-4:00. Donuts and cider will be served so we need an estimated count of anyone interested in attending. Please let me know ASAP if you plan on going.

Meeting Reminder 9/13

Just a reminder that we will be having our first Cadette meeting of the year this Wednesday at 6:00. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there.

DUES

As a reminder. we do ask that each girl contribute $25.00 in dues for the year to help offset the cost of materials and supplies for the badges that will be earned this year. Please feel free to submit this payment in which ever manner is most convenient for you. If turning in cash or check please put it in a clearly marked envelope with your child’s name on it and the purpose for the payment. Anyone wanting to submit the payment electronically can send it via zelle to 312-953-0405. Please label the transfer memo with the same information as you would on the envelope.

White Pines

Unfortunately this year there will not be a group weekend planned for White Pines. I am in the process of looking for a local stable that will host us for a day outing to allow the girls an opportunity to still do some horseback riding. More information will be sent out about it as it becomes available.

Service Unit Gathering

Please save the date for Sunday October 1st. The Service Unit is planning an informal gathering at Welles Park at 2:30 for ice cream treats and a couple of activities. This is an optional gathering for anyone interested.

REGISTRATION INFO

The official Girl Scout Year begins on October 1st. If you have not yet done so please ensure that your child has been registered for the new year. If your daughter is moving up from Juniors and has been registered to the old troop there is no problem as I will have them manually moved into the correct troop.

FALL PRODUCT September 22 – October 16

This candy, nut, and magazine sale is optional for anyone wanting to earn sales rewards. A family email will be sent out on September 15th with instructions to enroll in their online sales platform for those interested in participating. Anyone not wanting to participate can simply ignore the email.

Its that time again. Our new year of Cadettes will be starting in September. Below please find the entire schedule for the 2023-2024 year. The schedule may be subject to change from time to time but we will be working hard to ensure we stick to it as much as possible. End of the year outing 6/3

Hello all,

We are planning an end of the year outing to The Forge in LAMONT on Saturday, June 3rd. It will be a day trip where the girls will have an opportunity to go hiking as well as participate in the adventure below:

Scouts Climbing Adventure 

Rockwalls + Zipline + Rappel + Highropes

Your group will play on the popular Climb and Zipline Adventure on any combination of elements to climb, zip, rappel, soar, and more. Scouts can choose their challenge from easy, moderate, and difficult elements, which are all clearly marked.  Our experienced adventure guides will make sure everyone is trained, suited up with gear, and ready to go. 

Requirements: Min weight 70 lbs-250lbs, waivers required including supervising adult chaperones.

Admission to the park is free as well as hiking and biking. The cost for the girls to participate in the above activities will be covered by our troop funds. Some girls have expressed wanting to bring their siblings along which is fine with me. The cost for any additional person, adult or child, wishing to participate in the climbing adventure will be $65 per person.

Parking is also free however if needed we can definitely carpool if anyone does not wish to drive the distance. The park is open from 10:00 am-6:00 PM and i anticipate we will be there most of the day if not the entire day as we will be hiking in addition to the climbing adventure.

Please let me know by MONDAY if your daughter will be participating and if anyone else in the family will be joining in on the climbing adventure. Anyone is welcome to join in the hike with the troop, or biking on your own, as those are free activities providing you bring your own bike.

Reminder: Year End Celebration Reminder 5/25

Hello all,

I wanted to remind you that this Thursday, May 25th will be our year end celebration in the church basement at 6:00. We will pass out badges, have the bridging ceremony for those bridging up, and then a brief ice cream social.

Please let me know if your daughter is planning to attend and how many additional will be with her so we can ensure enough treats for everyone!

Cookie Pickup & Valentine’s Day Party 2/2

Hello All,

Just a reminder that cookie pickup will be on Thursday 2/2 in the church basement in tandem with the optional Valentine’s Day party going on in the Voss Center.

Cookie pickup will be from 4:00-6:00 in the basement and the Valentine’s Day party is at 6:00 in the Voss Center.

Some of the girls have expressed interest in going to the party to help run the activities. If those going can send me a message confirming I would greatly appreciate it.

If for any reason you wont be able to pick up copies please let me know ASAP so we can make other arrangements.
